The Old Ball Game
Baseball Stories told through film & Music
The Old Ball Game is a one-of-a-kind live performance celebrating baseball through music and live-scored film. Presented by the Musicians' Baseball Club of Brooklyn, the show blends original songs, historic footage, and the club's award-winning short films into an engaging theatrical experience.
At the heart of the program are two original films, Day of the Catch and The Mascot Race, performed with live musical scores, offering audiences a fun way to experience baseball through film and music. From the forgotten origin of the Grapefruit League in Day of the Catch to the madcap, modern-day NYC adventure of The Mascot Race, alongside animated classics, vintage baseball films, and contemporary stories inspired by the game, each performance combines humor, history, and live music.
Designed for theaters, music venues, museums, festivals, and ballparks, The Old Ball Game can be presented in a variety of formats, from a 20-minute family program to a full-length evening performance. Whether audiences are lifelong baseball fans or simply enjoy great storytelling and live music, The Old Ball Game offers a creative, entertaining, and memorable celebration of America's pastime.
